Facial peels

Removal of dirt and scales is carried out with the use of abrasive particles, which are evenly distributed over the entire surface of the skin with a certain consistency. Frequently used abrasives in cosmetics are:

Many scrubs have a superficial effect. However, products based on coral crumbs have a superficial to medium-depth mechanism of action and should be used in a beauty salon.

In the process of applying chemical peels, it is customary to use various chemicals called acids. As a result, cells are burned, and thus gradually die exposing other, deeper cell layers – they are quite smooth and fresh.

According to its depth of impact, such peels can be of three types.

Glycolic acid is used as the main component, other alpha-hydroxy acids (lactic, citric, grape) can also be used. When applied to the skin surface, they are able to dissolve the cells of the stratum corneum of the epidermis.

Indication:

• chrono- and photoaging of the skin;
• follicular hyperkeratosis;
• post acne;

To achieve a lasting result it is recommended to take a course: from 6 to 10 sessions at intervals of 1 time per week.

Medium-depth peels actively affect the entire depth of the epidermis, including the papillary layer. For this procedure most often used: solution of trichloroacetic acid (TCA, 25-30%), salicylic acid (20%), retinoids, azelaic acid, and phenol.

Indication:

• photoaging of the skin;
• hyperkeratosis;
• scars, uneven skin surface;
• pigment spots;
• post acne;
• reduction of the former elasticity of the skin.

The used means provide anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effects, as well as normalize the sebaceous glands activity.

Deep peels are considered to be a complex procedure and are performed exclusively in a beauty salon. Phenol or 35-50% TCA is taken as a basis. During this procedure, the papillary layer of the dermis is damaged.

Indication:

• pigmentation;
• deep wrinkles, scars;
• stretch marks;
•  

This procedure is followed with a long rehabilitation process: peeling of the skin is observed within 10-14 days.

Hardware peels are performed with the use of a number of hardware techniques that allow rejuvenating and cleansing the skin. The main advantage of using a laser or ultrasound method is high efficiency along with the painlessness of the procedure. Therefore, this procedure does not require the use of anesthesia (in some cases, a special cream is used that can “freeze” a certain area of ​​skin).

In addition, the hardware peels eliminate the possibility of skin injury. Quite often this type of peeling is combined with various cosmetic procedures.

Note the main list of contraindications, relevant for all types of peeling:

• pregnancy, breastfeeding;
• high body temperature, colds;
• diabetes;
• oncological diseases;
• blood and cardiovascular system diseases;
• chronic and exacerbated skin diseases;
• infectious diseases, all kinds of damage to the skin surface;
• herpes (during an exacerbation).

Carbon peeling is a unique modern procedure aimed at active cleansing and lifting the skin. This procedure is performed with the use of a special gel created on the basis of carbon, as well as a laser.

Carbon peeling is relevant for the following areas:

In the West, this procedure is called “Hollywood peel” because of its popularity in many cosmetic clinics in Los Angeles.

Before the procedure, a layer of carbon gel is applied on the target skin surface, which dries slightly. Next, a laser device is used, which acts exclusively on the carbon layer: carbon particles are broken down into smaller parts. As a result, dead epidermal cells exfoliate and pores are cleansed. Due to the additional thermal effect, natural processes of cell regeneration are stimulated.
