About the procedure
Pigment spots are darkened areas on the face due to local excessive accumulation of the dark pigment melanin. The most effective way to get rid of age spots on the face is laser removal. The most common cause of pigment spots is excessive exposure to UV radiation. Pigment spots are localized in the epidermis, dermis, as well as on the border between them. The effect of treatment depends on the depth of occurrence and accumulation of melanin pigment.

How is the procedure performed?
Before the procedure, the specialist cleans the face and wipes it with an antiseptic. Next, the specialist puts special protective glasses on your eyes. To remove pigment spots on the face, Dye VL that is used in our clinic is a gentle targeted method of getting rid of pigment spots with a broad-band pulse of light that activates the processes of collagen and elastin production. Photoremoval of spots is an almost painless method of laser pigmentation correction. The light wave specifically heats only cells with a high melanin content. They absorb the laser energy and are destroyed, and in the course of natural metabolic reactions, they are removed from the body.
How long is the course?
Laser removal of pigment spots from the face is a course procedure, the course of procedures is drawn up by a specialist after an examination, usually it consists of 2 to 8 procedures, depending on how deep the pigment lies. The interval between procedures is 7-14 days.

Frequently asked questions
Can peels cause hyperpigmentation?
Anything that disrupts the integrity of the epidermal barrier often causes pigment spots. It works like this: in response to damage, the synthesis of melanin increases, under the influence of ultraviolet, the skin in these areas can darken unevenly. Therefore, chemical peels are not recommended for everyone during the period of solar activity.
What is senile pigmentation?
Solar lentigo - senile pigment spots caused by the influence of ultraviolet light, which appear on areas of the skin exposed to the sun at a more mature age. About 75% of people over the age of 60 have at least one area of solar lentigo.
What is the mechanism of appearance of pigment spots on the face?
Due to the influence of UV radiation, ozone and bad ecology, significant changes are formed in the epidermis. Melanocytes increase in size, starting to synthesize more melanin pigment.
