How is hair transplantation performed in Lviv?
The procedure begins with local anesthesia, which numbs the entire scalp so you don't feel anything. Next, the surgeon starts harvesting hair follicles from the donor area. Usually, follicles are obtained from the temporal or occipital zone, as the hair in these areas is the strongest and rarely falls out. The extraction of hair follicles is done with the FUE punch micro-instrument, it is not a large tool with a diameter of 0.5 mm, which creates tiny holes for the punctures and ensures that they heal quickly.
Hair follicles are removed from the skin without damaging it, and after that, the resulting material is implanted using special methods in the area that needs hair restoration. Up to 4,000 grafts can be transplanted at a time (each graft contains from 1 to 3 hair bulbs).
The procedure lasts from 3 to 7 hours (depending on the volume of work). If necessary, especially in the case of large areas of baldness, the procedure is repeated several times.
Trichologists have long recognized the effectiveness and reliability of the seamless method of hair transplantation - this method is the most modern.

What is a graft?
A graft is a hair follicle that is transplanted from the donor area to the balding area. One graft, as a rule, contains one follicle from which one hair grows. Often one graft contains two or even three follicles.
How does hair grow after a transplant?
Roughly 3-4 weeks after the surgery, the phase of so-called ”stress loss” of hair begins. This is completely normal - old hair is replaced by new hair. New hair in the transplanted follicles begins to grow 2-3 months after the surgery and completely replaces the old hair by 8-12 months. It is then that you can assess how successful the operation was and how many bulbs really ”took root”.
How to wash your hair and care for your scalp after a hair transplant?
You can wash your hair no sooner than three days after the surgery. Applying shampoo, blotting with a towel should be as careful as possible, without aggressive movements. Water for washing the head should be at a comfortable temperature, not hot. For the first 3-4 weeks, it is recommended to limit heavy physical activity, visits to sauna, swimming pool, and solarium. When going outside, protect your head with loose headdresses. You can cut your hair no sooner than two weeks after the operation.
