About the procedure
Mandelic peeling is a type of professional chemical peeling based on the effect of phenyl glycolic acid, better known as mandelic acid.
Mandelic acid is widely used in cosmetology, which is part of many cosmetics, as it has excellent properties:
- cleaning - active particles exfoliate the keratinized layers of the epidermis, penetrate deep into the pores and cleanse them of sebum, thanks to which lipid metabolism is restored, acne breakouts and greasy shine are noticeably reduced;
- whitening - the acid evens out the tone of the face, removes black dots, makes pigment spots and freckles less noticeable, which makes the face appear several tones lighter;
- protection - thanks to the antioxidant effect, mandelic acid saturates the cells of the epidermis with oxygen and starts all metabolic processes, the skin receives additional protection from the negative effects of the environment;
- recovery - dead skin cells are carefully exfoliated and renewed, giving the face a healthy and well-groomed appearance;
- rejuvenation - mandelic acid affects the epidermis as a stress factor, in response to which the production of collagen and elastin increases, wrinkles become less noticeable, and the skin of the face becomes more elastic and tightened;
- antiseptic - mandelic acid was once used for medical purposes to treat infections, antibacterial substances contained in it disinfect the epidermis, prevent the development of inflammation and acne.

Procedure
How is the mandelic peeling procedure performed?
Makeup removal
at the first stage of the procedure, the doctor cleans the skin of cosmetics and impurities using a special washing gel.
Toning
a beautician tones the skin with a tonic selected according to skin type.
Preliminary peeling
a product with a low concentration of mandelic acid is applied to the face area, thus it is possible to determine how the epidermis will react to a more aggressive composition, as well as prepare the skin for deep penetration of the product.
Peeling
depending on the type and condition of the skin, the cosmetologist individually selects the concentration of the product and the required number of layers. On top of the peeling, mandelic acid of stronger saturation is applied for 3-5 minutes.
Removal
to stop the active action of the acid, a neutralizing agent is applied to the face, it softens the skin and helps exfoliate the keratinized skin scales. After completion, the substance is washed off with cold water.
Moisturizing
after the procedure, the skin should be soothed and moisturized. The nourishing mask is kept on the face for about 20 minutes, after which the specialist applies a cream that soothes the skin.
Rehabilitation period
Rehabilitation period after the mandelic peeling procedure:
clean the skin only with soft and gentle makeup removers;
during the week soothe the skin with a nourishing cream;
if small scales remain on the face after peeling, do not remove them yourself;
for two weeks, refuse to visit the bathhouse, sauna, and physical exertion;
