About the procedure
Corn, or stem callus, is a variety of hard callus. It has a dense core that goes into the deep layers of the skin, hence the name. A hard callus is a local thickening that occurs as a protective reaction of the upper layer of the skin (epidermis) to excessive friction and pressure. Without treatment, the rod penetrates into the deep layers of the skin and can reach the nerve endings, causing severe pain.

Procedure
How is the procedure for removing a stem callus performed?
A callus must be removed, because the further it goes, the more it will go deeper into the dermis and lead to even greater, severe pain. The procedure can take up to 30 minutes. The specialist chooses a comprehensive approach, mechanical and hardware treatment of the callus. In our Clinic, we use modern methods and materials that are certified. The specialist cuts the corneous membrane of the callus with special cuticles. The epicenter of the callus, i.e. the core itself, is revealed, then several cutters are selected to remove the callus. The removal of the rod itself will be indicated by a sensation similar to a slight tingling sensation.

In some cases, a podiatrist may recommend laser removal of calluses, laser removal is performed using a laser beam on problem areas of the skin. Due to this action, keratinized cells die.
