Types of alopecia
Types of alopecia:
Androgenic alopecia
is the most common form (90% of all alopecias). The main reason is the excessive production of male hormones, androgens, which have a negative effect on hair follicles, thereby provoking hair loss.
Scarring alopecia
1-2% of cases. Associated with damage to the follicles due to infectious diseases or skin injuries.
Focal or nested alopecia
hair falls out in foci (baldness of a round or oval shape). This type of baldness occurs due to a malfunction of the immune system.
Diffuse alopecia
loss occurs evenly, over the entire surface of the head. It is most often caused by inflammatory processes in the body, stress and the use of certain types of medications.
