Types of alopecia
Types of alopecia in men:
Androgenic alopecia
is the most common type of baldness in men, most often transmitted genetically (caused by the influence of androgens, male hormones);
Diffuse alopecia
is a type of alopecia in which hair falls evenly over the entire surface of the head (caused by diseases of the thyroid gland, diabetes, infectious processes);
Alopecia areata
is a condition in which there are multiple foci of hair loss on the head, it occurs in about 3%. The causes of focal baldness are head injuries, infectious and autoimmune diseases;
Scarring alopecia
is a type of alopecia in which hair follicles are irreversibly damaged and connective tissue appears in their place. The reason can be: infections (viral, bacterial, fungal), physical injuries (wounds, thermal or chemical burns).
