“Giving beauty – helping”: a social initiative that has become a Ukrainian record

“Giving beauty – helping” – under this slogan, Myroslava Novosilska’s aesthetic medicine clinic has been implementing a charitable project for many years, which has become a Ukrainian record.
It is the first aesthetic medicine clinic in Ukraine that has been continuously implementing a permanent social initiative to support lonely elderly people in geriatric and palliative care facilities in Western Ukraine since 2015.
The essence of the project is simple and profound at the same time: to be close to those who most lack attention, care, and human warmth. Every month, the clinic’s team visits nursing homes and palliative care wards where elderly people live to provide them not only with professional assistance but also with a sense of dignity and self-worth.
Over the years, the project has helped more than 4,500 elderly people in over 50 geriatric institutions in Western Ukraine. In 2024, to give this cause an even stronger foundation, the Lonely Candle charitable foundation was created to support and develop the initiative.

The day that confirmed the record

The record was set on February 6 during a regular scheduled visit by the clinic team to the palliative care unit in the town of Bilshivtsi. That day was living proof that the record is not a formality, but a monthly, real job.
During the visit, clinic staff provided hairdressing services (haircuts and shaving), podiatric care, dermatological and cosmetic consultations, and also delivered size L and XL diapers, baby diapers, and personal hygiene products.
“My colleagues and I are simply doing what we do best — caring for people through our profession. Even a single haircut, touch, or attentive glance can change a person’s day. And life is made up of such days,” says Myroslava Novosilska, founder of the Aesthetic Medicine Clinic.

The “Giving Beauty – Helping” project has a social and humanitarian focus, is implemented on a voluntary basis, and has no commercial purpose. It is part of the clinic’s philosophy, in which beauty always begins with humanity.
